Hindutva Ideology in India a Major Threat to Regional Peace: Info Minister Attaullah Tarar
Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar Addresses Policy Dialogue on Peace in South Asia
ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, on Wednesday addressed a policy dialogue on peace in South Asia organized by the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS). He termed his participation in the event an honor and highlighted Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region.
Speaking at the dialogue, Minister Tarar stated that “Pakistan has always played a proactive role in fostering peace in South Asia.” He warned, however, that the rise of Hindutva ideology in India poses a serious threat to regional harmony.
He stressed the need to reassess the balance of power in South Asia through a broader lens, emphasizing that “Pakistan is fully capable of responding to any form of aggression.”
The Minister accused India of actively attempting to destabilize peace in the region and pointed to foreign backing behind the wave of terrorism in Pakistan. “India is supporting terrorist elements operating within Pakistan,” he asserted.
Referring to the recent Pahalgam incident, Tarar rejected the accusations leveled against Pakistan, calling them baseless. He reiterated that “Pakistan is the biggest victim of terrorism and has made immense sacrifices in the fight against it.”

The event was attended by policy experts, diplomats, and regional affairs analysts, aiming to explore pathways to lasting peace in South Asia amidst growing geopolitical tensions.
