Highway Robbery Turns Deadly Near Shikarpur as Bandits Open Fire

A passenger coach traveling from Karachi to Kashmore was attacked by robbers on the Indus Highway near Shikarpur, resulting in one death and five injuries. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Naperkot police station.

According to police, the armed bandits attempted to rob the passengers, but when the driver refused to stop, they fired indiscriminately at the vehicle.

One passenger, identified as Ghulam Haider, was killed on the spot, while five others were seriously injured and rushed to Khanpur Hospital for treatment.

After the shooting, the robbers fled into the surrounding rural areas. The police, under the direction of SSP Shikarpur, have launched an operation to capture the suspects.

The incident caused major disruption as passengers organized a protest on the Indus Highway, temporarily blocking traffic.

Protesters alleged that the robbers were actively looting passengers before the shooting and criticized the police for not taking action. Investigations into the attack are ongoing.
