High-Level Meeting Reviews Uchhali Lake Eco-Tourism Project and Khushab Beautification Plan

Sargodha (Raja Noor Ilahi Atif) — A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Sargodha Division, Mr. Jahanzeb Awan, to review progress on the Uchhali Lake Eco-Tourism Project in Tehsil Naushera, District Khushab, along with the broader Khushab Beautification Plan.
The Wildlife Project Management Unit (PMU) presented a comprehensive briefing on the eco-tourism initiative, highlighting that the Uchhali Lake—nestled in the picturesque Soon Valley—will be developed with eco-friendly and tourist-centric infrastructure. The initiative, launched under the directives of the Government of Punjab, aims to promote sustainable tourism while preserving the natural habitat. Details regarding preliminary project estimates, fund allocation, and work commencement timelines were shared during the session.
Commissioner Jahanzeb Awan underscored the significance of the project for regional tourism and development. He instructed all concerned departments to maintain strong coordination to ensure timely completion of the project in accordance with high standards of quality and sustainability.
Deputy Commissioner Khushab, Ms. Farwah Amir, also briefed the meeting on various urban development initiatives being undertaken in line with the Chief Minister Punjab’s vision. She outlined plans for the modernization of Khushab’s main market, the relocation of overhead electricity systems underground, and other infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving the city’s visual and functional landscape.

Key attendees included Additional Commissioner Coordination Rai Muhammad Yasir Bhatti, Assistant Commissioner Naushera Ms. Samina Bashir, Assistant Commissioner General, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, and Project Director PMU Ms. Saba Adil, who also delivered an in-depth presentation on the Uchhali Lake development roadmap.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to implement the projects efficiently while preserving the natural beauty and ecological balance of the Soon Valley region.
