Mindanao: A Philippine Air Force helicopter crashed during relief operations in the southern region of Mindanao, killing six people, military officials confirmed. The incident occurred on Tuesday.
According to a spokesperson for the Philippine Armed Forces, the helicopter involved was a UH-1H Super Huey. It was carrying relief supplies and personnel to areas affected by Typhoon Kalmaegi. The aircraft had departed from the Eastern Mindanao Command Center and was headed toward the coastal city of Butuan when it went down.
The military said the helicopter was part of a critical humanitarian mission aimed at delivering food, medical aid, and other essential supplies to communities devastated by the typhoon.
