HED Questions Controversial Appointments at Khawaja Fareed University
HED Raises Concerns Over Irregular University Recruitment in Rahim Yar Khan
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The Higher Education Department (HED) has raised objections regarding permanent appointments on three key posts at Khawaja Fareed University in Rahim Yar Khan, citing serious procedural irregularities, on Wednesday.
The department has given the university three days to provide a detailed explanation for the controversial recruitments, which include the positions of registrar and controller examination. HED pointed out that the appointments breached established rules and regulations.
Officials highlighted that the university failed to form a scrutiny committee, a requirement for proper evaluation. HED emphasized that only the government has the authority to constitute committees for appointing a controller or treasurer.
Further irregularities were noted in the allocation of marks during the selection process. Candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience were reportedly overlooked, while less qualified individuals received marks, particularly for the registrar post.
In the case of the controller examination position, three candidates were rejected despite their banking experience, raising questions about the transparency and fairness of the process.
The HED’s notice underscores the need for strict adherence to recruitment rules to ensure merit-based hiring and prevent administrative lapses.
