Heavy Rains in Balochistan Claim 10 Lives, Injure 31

The PDMA report highlighted that children were among the dead and injured.

Quetta: Recent monsoon rains have resulted in tragic incidents across Balochistan, with 10 people reported dead and 31 injured.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) released a report detailing the damages caused by the rains in various districts. Since June 7, monsoon rains have led to multiple incidents, including roof and wall collapses, resulting in casualties and injuries.

The PDMA report highlighted that children were among the dead and injured. The rains have completely destroyed 89 houses and partially damaged 170 others, affecting a total of 1,799 people in the province.

In addition, the rains have damaged 17 kilometers of roads and 310 acres of agricultural land. Despite the heavy rainfall, PDMA confirmed that the situation of dams in Balochistan remains normal.

Relief efforts by PDMA and district administrations are ongoing in the affected areas to assist those impacted by the monsoon rains.
