The combination of dry air and more time spent indoors creates ideal conditions for viruses to spread, putting vulnerable groups like children, the elderly, and those with weak immune systems at higher risk.

During colder months, people tend to stay indoors in closed spaces where viruses easily travel through the air. Additionally, the dry winter air causes the membranes in the nose and throat to lose moisture, weakening the body’s natural defenses. Lower temperatures can also slow down the immune system, making it harder for the body to fight infections effectively.
