Hajj sermon to reach global audience in 35 languages

RIYADH: The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that this year’s Hajj sermon, delivered from the historic Nimrah Mosque in Arafat during the central rite of Hajj — the Waqf of Arafat — will be broadcast live in 35 international languages, including English and Urdu.

The effort is expected to reach an estimated five million listeners across the globe. The multilingual broadcast marks a significant step in making the message of Hajj more inclusive and accessible to Muslims worldwide, regardless of linguistic background.

Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, Head of Religious Affairs at the Two Holy Mosques, emphasised the global scope and purpose of the project:

“In order to convey the message of Islam’s moderation and balance from the Two Holy Mosques to the world, arrangements have been made to translate the Hajj sermon into 35 international languages.”

All technical and logistical preparations for the broadcast have been finalised.
