Hajj application deadline extended to December 10, No ballot for sponsorship scheme
Minister confirmed that applicants under the Sponsorship Scheme would not undergo the usual ballot process.
ISLAMABAD: In a major development for prospective Hajj pilgrims, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced the extension of the deadline for Hajj applications to December 10. This decision comes as a relief to a large number of applicants who faced difficulties in completing the application process within the initial timeframe.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, made the announcement, stating that all applications submitted by December 3 would be considered successful. The extension, which provides an additional seven days, was granted in response to requests from pilgrims who needed more time to finalize their applications.
Moreover, the Minister confirmed that applicants under the Sponsorship Scheme would not undergo the usual ballot process. All such applications received by the new deadline will automatically be declared successful, ensuring a smoother process for those applying through this route.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain also mentioned that in the event of the number of applications exceeding the available quota, a draw will be held to determine the final list of selected pilgrims. He further urged overseas Pakistanis to ensure they deposit their sponsorship amounts by December 10 to be eligible for selection.
