Hajj 2025 Health Advisory: Only Healthy Pilgrims Permitted Amid Severe Weather Concerns

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has issued a new health advisory for Hajj 2025, detailing stringent health requirements for pilgrims.

According to the statement from the Religious Affairs spokesperson, individuals with serious health conditions will be prohibited from undertaking the pilgrimage. This includes those suffering from chronic illnesses such as kidney, heart, lung, or liver diseases, as well as cancer, dementia, or infectious diseases like tuberculosis (TB) and whooping cough.

Due to anticipated severe weather conditions during the Hajj season, the advisory stresses that only those in good health and with sufficient stamina will be allowed to perform Hajj.

Additionally, the advisory specifies that children under the age of 12 and pregnant women will also be restricted from participating in the pilgrimage.

The spokesperson also highlighted that all pilgrims must be vaccinated against meningitis, COVID-19, seasonal influenza, and polio before their journey.
