Haibatullah Akhunzada issues fatwa against cross-border militancy

Kabul_Haibatullah Akhunzada, the supreme leader of Afghanistan’s ruling Taliban regime, has issued a decree that no Afghan citizen and member of the interim government will cross the border for militancy.

Those who cross the border for militancy in Pakistan will not be called martyrs, but their death will be called impure. In the context of recent terrorism, Pakistan has on multiple occasions given a strong response, while the Afghan supreme leader has issued relevant orders and fatwas. Haibatullah Akhundzada has issued fresh strict orders on waging militancy outside of Afghanistan.

He has said that Afghanistan’s border should not be crossed for jihad and militancy, the supreme leader directed. If those who cross into Pakistan for militancy are killed, they will not be called martyrs, he ordained. The death of those killed across the border will be declared impure, the Afghan supreme leader said.

Those who violate these orders will no longer be considered a part of the Afghan interim government, Akhunzada is said to have ordered. On the killing of an Afghan citizen in Pakistan, no representative from the Kabul government will attend his funeral, he declared.
