Lahore ( Special Correspondent ) Additional Secretary Shrines Rana Shahid Saleem hailed the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, emphasizing their profound impact on uplifting the lower class and promoting tolerance, peace, and love. He expressed his remarks while addressing a gathering organized in honor of Sikh pilgrims from India.
Sardar Amir Singh, the Pradhan of Pakistan Sikh Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding the religious rights of minorities, asserting that they enjoy greater prosperity in Pakistan than in India. He extended a warm welcome to the pilgrims, assuring them of hospitality and unwavering support.
Deputy Administrator Gurudwara Panja Sahib Yasir Asghar Monga echoed the sentiments of tolerance and inclusivity, underscoring the government’s efforts to preserve the sanctity of Gurudwaras across Pakistan.
Sardar Suwant Singh, Sardar Sarbat Singh, and Dr. Mampal Singh, members of the Pakistan Sikh Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, emphasized the importance of incorporating the views of Sikh leaders in the development works of Gurudwaras, aligning with the government’s priorities.
The Sikh pilgrims were escorted to Gurudwara Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur, under triple-stop security. Upon their arrival, they were warmly received by Chief Executive Officer of the Project Management Unit Muhammad Abubakar Aftab and Deputy Secretary (Admin) Saifullah Khokhar.
Accommodations and langar (communal meal) were provided to the Sikh pilgrims, ensuring their comfort and well-being. The pilgrims immersed themselves in religious devotion, offering prayers and paying their respects at the sacred site.
The warm reception and unwavering hospitality extended to the Indian Sikh pilgrims exemplify Pakistan’s commitment to fostering interfaith harmony and upholding the principles of religious freedom.
