Greek Woman Files for Divorce After AI Predicts Husband’s Affair Through Tea Leaf Reading

Athens — A bizarre and sensational story from Greece has taken social media by storm after a woman reportedly filed for divorce based on predictions made by artificial intelligence. The woman, married for 12 years and a mother of two, claims she discovered her husband’s alleged infidelity with the help of ChatGPT.

According to Greek media, the woman used an unconventional method involving ancient fortune-telling practices. She took photos of tea leaf patterns left in cups and uploaded them to ChatGPT, invoking the centuries-old technique of tasseography — the reading of tea leaves to predict the future.

In a surprising response, the AI allegedly predicted that her husband was romantically involved with a younger woman who intended to break up their marriage. It even identified a woman whose name begins with the letter “E” as his supposed “future partner.”

The husband dismissed the accusations as absurd. “I thought she was joking at first,” he said. “But she took it seriously, kicked me out of the house, told our children we were getting divorced, and then three days later I got a notice from her lawyer. That’s when I realized it was serious.”

He added that this isn’t the first time his wife has been influenced by unconventional beliefs. “She once spent nearly a year making decisions based on what a fortune teller told her,” he said.

His lawyer has clarified that AI-generated predictions hold no legal weight in court, stating, “Until proven otherwise, my client is innocent. AI speculation is not admissible as evidence in any legal proceeding.”
