Grand Peace Jirga Held in Chahkan, D.I. Khan with Support of Pakistan Army
We salute the Pakistan Army and the martyrs, Molana Khaleel Ahmed Siraj said.
D.I. Khan: A Grand Peace Jirga of prominent religious scholars and spiritual leaders was convened in Chahkan, Dera Ismail Khan, with the full support of the Pakistan Army. The event was aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region and countering the menace of extremist elements, particularly the “Khawarij” insurgents.
Participants of the Jirga expressed unanimous support for the Pakistan Army in its efforts to eliminate terrorism and restore peace. They paid rich tributes to the armed forces, security personnel, and the martyrs for their unmatched sacrifices in the line of duty.
The gathering, which was attended by General Officer Commanding (GOC) Major General Neknam as the chief guest, also saw a strong consensus among the Ulema and Mashaikh on supporting national security institutions in rooting out the extremist ideology of Khawarij and other disruptive elements.
Molana Naqeebullah, a senior member of the Tank Jirga, emphasized, “There is unrest in the region due to the Khawarij insurgents, and we strongly condemn their actions. We fully support the Pakistan Army’s efforts to restore peace.”
Molana Khaleel Ahmed Siraj added, “We salute the Pakistan Army and the martyrs. May Allah bless Pakistan with peace and prosperity.”

Kazim Seibtini, General Secretary of the Shia Ulema Council, remarked, “The confidence of scholars is crucial in the operation against Khawarij. These are only a few people committing murders in mosques and marketplaces. It is our duty to stand with the Army and preach the message of peace from our pulpits.”
The participants also appreciated the Pakistan Army’s contributions in education and healthcare development in the region, especially the promotion of girls’ education.
The Jirga concluded with a renewed pledge of unity, peace, and collaboration between the religious community and the armed forces for a secure and progressive Pakistan.
