Grand Independence Day celebration in New York highlights Pakistan’s unity and armed forces’
The Pakistan American Society USA hosted a grand event in New York to mark Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, attended by a large gathering of Pakistani community members, visiting delegations from various states, and esteemed guests.
Society President Shams-ul-Zaman congratulated overseas Pakistanis on the historic day, declaring that the victory in the “Battle of Truth” had lifted the nation’s pride globally. He saluted Pakistan’s armed forces for their unmatched courage and affirmed that Pakistanis abroad remain steadfast partners in safeguarding the country’s honor and progress. His remarks drew passionate chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pak Army Zindabad.”
Deputy Consul General of Pakistan in New York, Umer Sheikh, called “Operation Bunyān al-Marsūs” a milestone in the country’s history, symbolizing the military’s bravery, skill, and the nation’s steadfastness. He honored the martyrs and veterans, underlining that peace, unity, and stability are Pakistan’s foremost goals.
General Secretary Dr. Ashraf reminded attendees that love for the homeland is a priceless strength for overseas Pakistanis, inspiring them to meet challenges with determination. He pledged their continued efforts for Pakistan’s prosperity.
Additional addresses were given by Chief Coordinator Syed Asif, Senior Vice President Suleman Butt, Vice President Shehzad Anwar, and community leader Professor Saqlain Malik. The program also featured national songs and speeches by young girls, stirring strong patriotic sentiments among attendees.
The evening ended with shield presentations to distinguished guests, prayers for Pakistan’s security and progress, and powerful chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” echoing through the hall.
