Govt Likely to Decide Faiz Hameed’s Case by December: Sanaullah
'No law permits propaganda against national security from abroad'
Islamabad-(Mudassar Iqbal)-Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Thursday that a decision concerning Faiz Hameed is likely to be finalised in December.
Speaking to reporters, Senator Sanaullah warned that if the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister attempted to hinder security operations or aided militants, “there would be no future for him.” He added that if Sohail Afridi restricts his political activities to speeches only, they should be tolerated.
Sanaullah further stated that, under the former prime minister’s protocol, PTI founders are entitled to B-class jail facilities and that meetings within these parameters should not be restricted. However, he clarified that any meetings involving protests, anti-government mobilisation, or support for terrorism should not be permitted. He also emphasised that no assumptions should be made about the outcome of Faiz Hameed’s case.
The adviser emphasised that the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) will become a highly sensitive institution of national security. Legislation has been amended for the office of the CDF, and regulations and rules are to be framed with great care.
He said that individuals spreading anti-Pakistan material abroad will be added to relevant lists. No law permits propaganda against national security from outside the country. “Should Sohail Afridi obstruct national security, his political future will be adversely affected,” he added.
