Govt Approves Adding 132 Political Leaders to ECL
Punjab Recommends ECL Addition to Monitor Political, Potential Illegal Activities
ISLAMABAD: The federal government of Pakistan has officially approved adding the names of 132 political leaders to the Exit Control List (ECL), restricting their ability to travel abroad.
According to sources, the list includes prominent figures such as PTI founder Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Umar Ayub, Fawad Chaudhry, and Shibli Faraz. Additionally, Ali Amin Gandapur, Shehryar Afridi, and Usman Dar have also been barred from traveling overseas.
Sources further stated that Shireen Mazari, Zartaj Gul, Musarrat Cheema, and Kanwal Shauzab have been included in the ECL, while Sheikh Rasheed, Tahir Sadiq, Raja Basharat, and Waseem Qayyum will also be prohibited from leaving the country.
The recommendation to place these names on the ECL was received from Punjab authorities and aims to monitor political activities and potential illegal actions within the country.

Notably, former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has already been on the ECL for the past three years. The latest decision has sparked significant reactions in political circles.
