Govt Approves 150,000 Metric Tons sugar export to Regulate Market
Islamabad: In a move balancing industry demands with consumer protection, the Sugar Advisory Board has authorized the export of 150,000 metric tons of sugar. This decision follows directives from the Prime Minister to re-evaluate sugar export options.
The federal government, aiming to regulate the sugar market, will kick off the initiative with this initial export quota. To ensure domestic affordability, measures have been implemented to keep the ex-mill price of sugar under Rs 140 per kg.
