Governor KP Faisal Karim Kundi Praises Armed Forces, Stresses Sports Revival at Exhibition Hockey Match

Governor Praises PHF Chief, Vows to Revive Sports in KP

ISLAMABAD (Ansar Bhatti): Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, lauded the role of the Pakistan Armed Forces and emphasized the revival of sports culture in the province during an exhibition hockey match organized in honor of the military.

Speaking to the media, Governor Kundi appreciated the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) for its efforts in revitalizing the national sport. He particularly commended PHF President Tariq Bugti for his contributions and expressed optimism regarding the national team’s preparation for the upcoming Nations Cup.

“I appreciate the efforts of PHF President Tariq Bugti for revitalizing hockey in the country,” said the governor, adding that both federal and provincial governments must extend full support to national sports. He reaffirmed the commitment to restoring sports infrastructure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stating, “The grounds in KP will once again echo with the energy of youth and sports.”

Commenting on national affairs, Governor Kundi accused certain elements of deliberately targeting the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to sabotage it. “Despite provocations, the world witnessed Pakistan’s firm response to Indian aggression,” he remarked.

He praised Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir for his decisive response to hostile threats, stating, “The COAS responded to hostile attacks, truly representing the spirit of the nation. The entire Pakistani nation stands shoulder-to-shoulder with its armed forces.”

On foreign policy, the governor said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, diplomatic engagements were helping strengthen Pakistan’s ties with other countries.

He also criticized India’s defense posture, noting, “India was overconfident in its Rafale jets and defense capabilities. Pakistan’s decisive response will remain etched in their memory.”

Referring to alleged corruption in solar panel installations at mosques, Governor Kundi condemned the suppression of peaceful protests, stating that the federal interior ministry would take action against those involved in the violent crackdown in KP.

Taking aim at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he accused the party’s leadership of seeking an NRO from the beginning and highlighted the party’s absence from a recent ceremony honoring Field Marshal Asim Munir. “Even today, no one in PTI knows who is really in charge,” he said.

He concluded by emphasizing the need for professionalism in sports administration. “People with no knowledge of sports should not be given key posts in sports federations. We must work together to revive and enrich Pakistan’s sports culture,” he said.
