To address the economic challenges and mitigate the power crisis, the government’s robust crackdown on electricity theft has yielded impressive outcomes.
Since the operation commenced in September 2023, authorities have recovered a remarkable sum of PKR 122.35 billion from individuals involved in power theft nationwide.
In October alone, officials managed to reclaim over PKR 1.35 billion from electricity thieves in key cities, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Quetta, and surrounding areas.
Additionally, 224 individuals implicated in electricity theft were apprehended during this time.
Authorities have pledged to persist with their efforts until electricity theft is entirely eliminated, reinforcing their commitment to stabilizing the power sector and boosting the nation’s economy.
