
Government launches major flood aid mission for KP and AJK
PM Shehbaz directs NDMA to launch urgent relief operations in flood-hit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir.
KP-Flood-Relief-(Special-Correspondent/Web Desk) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to launch full-scale relief efforts in flood-hit areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Azad Kashmir. At least 198 people have lost their lives, with many still missing, as flash floods and landslides caused massive destruction.
The PM instructed NDMA to work closely with KP’s government and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to ensure immediate delivery of tents, medicines, food, and other essentials. He emphasized that stranded residents and tourists must be moved to safe locations without delay.

Since late June, heavy monsoon rains have triggered deadly floods, claiming over 500 lives and injuring hundreds across Pakistan. Northern regions, including Gilgit-Baltistan and AJK, have been hit hardest, with homes destroyed and infrastructure damaged. The federal government has assured full support to provincial authorities to protect lives and restore affected communities.
