Government Considers Calling Parliament Sessions Following Supreme Court Ruling

The government aims to develop a strategic plan within Parliament before proceeding with a revision appeal.

Islamabad: In light of the Supreme Court’s recent decision regarding specific seats, the government is actively considering convening sessions of the Senate and National Assembly.

Sources indicate that Federal Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Azam Nazir Tarar proposed the parliamentary session during a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Senior leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and members of parliament have been instructed to remain in Islamabad as a final decision is expected in a meeting chaired by Nawaz Sharif tomorrow.

The government aims to develop a strategic plan within Parliament before proceeding with a revision appeal. This move follows the Supreme Court’s annulment of the Peshawar High Court’s decision and the Election Commission’s order, which granted specific seats to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
