Finance minister says fuel prices stable despite heavy fiscal burden

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk)– Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb announced that the government has taken on a financial burden of Rs69 billion to maintain stability in petroleum prices and shield consumers from rising costs.

Addressing a press conference, he said authorities are holding daily review meetings to ensure uninterrupted availability of petrol, diesel, and LPG across the country.

The minister emphasized that despite limited resources, the government is striving to provide maximum possible relief to the public, following clear directives from the prime minister.

Aurangzeb noted that improvements in the fuel supply chain are expected by April, while measures such as demand management and energy conservation are also being considered amid concerns over potential disruptions due to regional tensions.

He added that the government is gradually shifting towards targeted subsidies for deserving segments of society and called for collective efforts to navigate the current economic challenges.
