Google Translate Now Supports Better Translation of Idioms and Examples

ISLAMABAD: Google has redesigned its Translate service by integrating the Gemini AI model, aiming to significantly improve the quality of translations.

According to the company, the update is focused on delivering more accurate translations, especially for idioms, proverbs, and example-based sentences, which have traditionally been difficult to translate correctly.

Google said that users can experience this state-of-the-art translation quality across Google Search and the Translate app on Android and iOS devices.

The update is initially being rolled out in the United States and India, offering translation support for around 20 languages, including English.

In addition, Google is introducing a real-time translation feature for headphones, allowing users to listen to live translations. This feature is currently in the testing phase and can be accessed by opening Google Translate, connecting headphones, and tapping on the Live Translate option.

The experimental live translation feature is being launched for Android users in the United States, Mexico, and India, and will support more than 70 languages.

Google is also improving feedback mechanisms within its language-learning tools on Translate, while expanding these tools to 20 additional countries, further enhancing the platform’s global reach.
