Google Testing New YouTube Premium Plan for Two Users
YouTube also introduced a "Premium Lite" plan on a trial basis in select countries.
ISLAMABAD: Google is currently testing a new YouTube Premium subscription plan designed specifically for two users. A company spokesperson confirmed the trial, stating that the new “Two-Person Premium Plan” aims to offer users a more affordable way to enjoy YouTube Premium benefits by sharing the subscription.
The trial is currently being conducted in France, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and India. According to the company, this plan will allow two individuals to share a single subscription, significantly reducing the cost per user.
As per reports, the plan will cost around PKR 468 per month in total, which breaks down to approximately PKR 224 per person monthly.
Previously, YouTube also introduced a “Premium Lite” plan on a trial basis in select countries. That plan allowed ad-free viewing of most videos but excluded music videos from the ad-free experience and did not include features like offline downloads or background play.
This new two-person plan appears to be part of Google’s ongoing efforts to provide more flexible and cost-effective options for its global user base.
