Google makes switching from ChatGPT to Gemini easier

Google introduces tool to migrate ChatGPT data to Gemini

NEW YORK: (Web Desk) – Google has introduced a new feature called Switching Tools, making it easier for users of OpenAI ChatGPT and other AI chatbots to migrate to its AI platform, Gemini.

The feature allows users to import their entire chat history from ChatGPT or other AI services into Gemini, preserving projects, preferences, and past interactions. This ensures continuity and personalization, which is a key advantage of long-term AI chatbot usage.

According to Google, importing memories from other AI platforms enables Gemini to learn from previous conversations, including user interests, family names, and other details, helping to provide a more customized and effective experience. Gemini also already leverages information from users’ Google accounts.

To migrate, users must first download their chat data from the original service and then upload it to Gemini. The move reflects Google’s broader strategy to encourage users to permanently switch from competing AI chatbots to its own platform.
