Google Gemini Gets a Useful Upgrade for Students and Professionals Alike
The feature is currently rolling out to both personal and Workspace accounts.
ISLAMABAD: Google is expanding the capabilities of Gemini’s Canvas, its free interactive workspace built into the Gemini AI app, by introducing a powerful new feature for creating presentations.
The update, aimed at both students and professionals, allows users to generate complete presentations from either a written prompt or uploaded files such as documents, spreadsheets, or research papers.
The process is simple: users can type a request like “Create a presentation on renewable energy” or upload a file they want the presentation to be based on. If the source material is critical, Gemini can directly analyze the uploaded document to generate accurate slides from it.
Each presentation is automatically styled with themes, layouts, and relevant images, giving users a ready-to-use deck within seconds. The generated slides can then be exported directly to Google Slides for further editing, customization, or team collaboration. The feature is currently rolling out to both personal and Workspace accounts.

Google originally launched Canvas in March as a collaborative space for users to share and refine their writing, code, and creative projects with Gemini. The platform can already visualize designs for apps, web pages, and infographics, but this new presentation capability takes its functionality a step further.
