Gilgit-Baltistan Seeks Sustainable Solution to Wheat Subsidy Issues
Gilgit: Provincial Food and Tourism Minister Ghulam Muhammad held an advisory meeting with provincial ministers and the Public Action Committee to discuss the wheat subsidy issue in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The meeting was held under the special instructions of Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Haji Gulbar Khan. The participants discussed the problems faced by the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and the need for a sustainable and workable solution.
Ghulam Muhammad said, “We are fully aware of the problems faced by the people of Gilgit-Baltistan. We do not want to put any additional burden on the poor people. The purpose of targeted subsidy is to give relief to the deserving class even in these difficult situations.”
He also said that the federal government has been requested to cooperate for a sustainable and workable solution to the problems faced by Gilgit-Baltistan, the results of which will reach the people.
The results of the consultative meeting with the provincial ministers and the public action committee in connection with the public communication campaign will be available soon.
