GB Anti-Corruption Police Arrest Chief Engineer, Officials from Education Department

Authorities say that these arrests will accelerate the investigation process, and more revelations are expected in the coming days.

GILGIT – The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Gilgit-Baltistan has carried out a major operation, arresting a Chief Engineer of the Works Division (Education Department) along with several other officials on charges of corruption and illegal appointments.

According to details, a special police team led by DSP Anti-Corruption Bahram Shah took the accused into custody immediately after a court revoked their bail. Those arrested include an XEN (Executive Engineer), a senior accountant, a site engineer, and two contractors.

It is worth noting that an FIR had been registered against the suspects a while ago following an inquiry into allegations of corruption in key development projects and unlawful recruitments.
