Gas Theft Crackdown Yields Significant Results Across Punjab, KP, and Islamabad
In the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, the enforcement team disconnected five connections found guilty of illegal gas consumption.
Lahore: In a concerted effort to curb gas theft and ensure fair distribution, the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has intensified its crackdown, resulting in the disconnection of 74 illegal connections across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Islamabad. The latest operation has also seen fines totaling Rs 2.55 million imposed on the offenders.
The proactive stance against gas pilferers saw regional teams swiftly taking action. In Multan, three connections were disconnected due to illegal gas usage. Similarly, in Peshawar, a significant crackdown led to the disconnection of 45 connections, accompanied by the booking of Rs 1.61 million in gas theft cases and the lodging of seven FIRs against gas thieves.

Further afield, in Bahawalpur, four connections were disconnected for similar violations. In Mardan, the crackdown resulted in the disconnection of 10 illegal connections, with fines totaling Rs 0.44 million levied against gas theft.
In Faisalabad, one connection was disconnected due to illegal gas usage, accompanied by a fine of Rs 0.02 million. In Gujranwala, three connections were disconnected, with fines amounting to Rs 0.27 million imposed against gas theft.
Additionally, in Sargodha, one connection was disconnected for illegal gas use, while Gujrat witnessed the disconnection of another illegal connection. Furthermore, in Sahiwal, a connection was disconnected, and an FIR was lodged against a gas thief.
