Lahore: Gas theft crackdown: Another 718 connections disconnected in Punjab, KP & Isb. During the ongoing crackdown against gas pilferers, SNGPL continued raids in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad, disconnecting another 718 connections; Rs 24 million fine imposed

In Lahore, the regional team disconnected 12 connections on illegal use of gas. The team imposed fine of Rs 0.13 million against gas pilferes and also lodged 2 Firs against gas theft cases. In Multan 08 connections were disconnected on illegal use while another 2 on use of compressor.

In Peshawar the company disconnected 28 connections on account of direct use of gas and illegal use of gas and amount of Rs 1.00 million have been booked against gas theft cases .The regional team of Shiekhupura disconnected 423 connections on illegal use of gas while another 114 on use of compressors and also booked an amount of Rs 19.50 against gas theft cases.The team also lodged 19 FIRs against gas pilferes.

In Bahawalpur the team disconnected 33 connections on illegal use of gas while another 96 on use of the compressor. The team also imposed a fine of Rs 3.09 against gas theft cases.The regional team of Gujrat disconnected 01 connection on illegal use of gas. In Gujranwala the team disconnected 1 connection on illegal use of gas and team also imposed fine of Rs 0.37 million against gas theft cases.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch in a weekly media briefing in Islamabad said Pakistan has been facing threats from individuals and organizations in Afghanistan and Pakistan can deal with the threats facing its territory.

The FO spokesperson said: “ISPR made it clear in the press conference that there is concrete evidence of the connection of the Basham attacker to Afghan soil. The contact data of the terrorists involved in the attack was shared with the Afghan authority in Afghanistan.”

Responding to Afghanistan’s Taliban interim government that rejected involvement in Bisham attack.

Responding to the spokesperson said that they could not announce the final dates regarding the Saudi Crown Muhammad Bin Sultan prince’s visit.

She explained that negotiations were ongoing between the two countries on various issues including discussions on increasing Saudi investment in Pakistan.

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal’s visit to the People’s Republic of China was related to China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and its projects.

The FO spokesperson said that the Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline is included in the priority of Pakistan.

“Pakistani mission in the United States is in contact with American authorities over Aafia Siddiqui,’ the FO said.
