Balochistan – (Web Desk) – At least seven people, including five children, lost their lives and 25 others were injured when a gas cylinder exploded inside a home in Chaman, Balochistan, on Thursday.
The explosion occurred in the Torpal area, where a large gathering of residents, including women and children, had assembled for lassi distribution, according to police reports.
Police said the blast came from a 20-kilogram gas cylinder in the kitchen, which caused multiple rooms to collapse, resulting in significant casualties.
Rescue teams and police quickly reached the site, transporting the injured and deceased to the hospital for treatment and legal procedures. A bomb disposal squad was also called to investigate the exact cause of the explosion.
Last week, at least 13 people, including women and children, were killed after a gas cylinder blast caused a residential building to collapse in Karachi.
The cylinder exploded on the first floor of the multi-story compound in Soldier Bazaar, a residential neighborhood in the eastern part of the densely populated city, police said.
In a similar incident last month, a gas cylinder exploded at a hotel in main Usta Muhammad town, injuring one of its employees.
