India cannot change the course of history by holding  G20 meeting in Srinagar, PM AJK

Muzafarabad(Shoaib Mehmood)_Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday said holding a G20 countries’ tourism group meeting in Srinagar was a sheer violation of the UN resolutions on Kashmir. Addressing a special session of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly, he said the people of Kashmir had been denied of their basic right of self-determination for decades.

He expressed that holding such meeting in the most militarized zone of the world was to prove that normalcy had returned. Bilawal stated that history cannot be changed and emphasised that his purpose for attending the session was to engage in communication with the people of Kashmir. He highlighted that the Kashmir issue remains the incomplete agenda of partition of India. Referring to 1947, he expressed that the blood of Kashmiri Muslims was tragically shed during that period. Earlier in the day, a delegation of refugees hailing from Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) called on FM Bilawal.

The delegation apprised him of its reservations regarding G20 conference being held in Srinagar. The delegation appreciated the role of the foreign minister with regard to the movement of independence of Kashmir. It also informed about the brutalities by Indian forces against the refugees coming to Azad Kashmir from IIOJK in 1990.The issues regarding resettlement of the refugees were also discussed in the meeting,

President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry has said that the Indian bid to host the G-20 conference in Srinagar was meant to create an impression that everything was hunky dory in Kashmir. He expressed these views while addressing an extraordinary session of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, which was specially attended by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Speaking on the occasion, the president, while referring to the highly volatile situation in the Indian held territory, said that India had deployed over 900,000 military and paramilitary troops who have turned the region into a slaughterhouse.

“What kind of tourism can be promoted in the presence of such a large army”, the president questioned. Referring to Narendra Modi’s dreadful and devastating policies, Barrister Chaudhary said that the ruthless suppression of Kashmiris and hapless minorities within the Indian mainland shows that Modi will prove to be India’s Gorbachev. He said that Modi’s fascist policies would ultimately lead to the disintegration of India. He said that India, which claims to be the largest democracy and secular state in the world, has not only wreaked havoc on the lives of innocent Kashmiris but also unleashed hell on religious minorities in India.

Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq, while referring to the disputed legacy of Jammu and Kashmir, has said that India cannot change the course of history by holding a G20 meeting in Srinagar. While addressing a special session of the AJK Legislative Assembly here today, the PM said that India cannot hoodwink the world by displaying tricolor (Indian flags) on lamp-posts in Srinagar while shutting down businesses and crippling normal life in the Kashmir valley. India’s tactics, he said, were bound to fail. Terming the Kashmiris’ ongoing liberation struggle as part of the completion of the Pakistan movement, the PM said that India must bear in mind the fact that it cannot subdue Kashmiris by suppressing their sentiments and legitimate political aspirations.
