Funeral Prayer of Army Chief’s Mother Held; President, Prime Minister, and Others Attend
Key Officials Attend General Asim Munir’s Mother’s Funeral Prayer
ISLAMABAD: The funeral prayer of Army Chief General Asim Munir’s mother was held at the Race Course Ground in Rawalpindi. General Munir himself led the funeral prayer for his late mother.
The funeral was attended by President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Nawaz Sharif, among others.
In addition, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Advisor Rana Sanaullah, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Senate Yousaf Raza Gillani, and Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also participated in the funeral prayer.
The ceremony was also attended by the heads of the armed forces, military officials, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and Balochistan Chief Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Baloch. Former Army Chiefs, General (retd) Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, were also present.
It is worth noting that General Asim Munir’s mother passed away yesterday due to natural causes.
