Renowned national and international medical professionals participated in this impactful event. Established in 1981, the institute is currently providing free education, rehabilitation, and training to 374 special children and is playing a vital role in their social integration and empowerment.

Among the participating specialists were Dr. Raja Nadeem (UK), Dr. Khalid Abbas Janjua (Special Chief Guest), Dr. Muhammad Masood, Dr. Ansar Hayat, Dr. Muhammad Abbas, and Dr. Mian Owais. Major General Kashif Azad (Hilal-e-Imtiaz Military) served as the Guest of Honour, praised the institute’s work and said that Nasheman is a model for institutions serving children with special needs, offering them not just care but a dignified path to becoming global ambassadors of Pakistan.

He highlighted that over 1600 children are currently enrolled in the institute’s sports program, receiving regular training in various sports disciplines. Many of them have proudly represented Pakistan at international events, earning medals and accolades. Notably, student Sana Bibi won a silver medal in intermediate exams, while Ehtesham Danish and Shezan Malik brought home international medals. Nasheman’s teams actively participate in cricket, hockey, basketball, and football. Facilities like fine arts and computer labs have enabled many students to lead independent lives.

The event was hosted by renowned anchorperson Tasawwur Zaman Babar from PTV. Dr. Raja Nadeem expressed commitment to continuing international support and collaboration, sharing that over 21,000 doctors worldwide are associated with their network and that they will continue to raise the educational and therapeutic standards of special institutions like Nasheman. He also announced that artwork created by visually impaired students would be displayed in international exhibitions.

ENT Specialist Dr. Shoaib stressed the importance of early hearing screening for newborns, noting that many cases of deafness can be prevented if diagnosed in time. He emphasized that treatment is most effective before the age of five, underlining the need for parental and public awareness.

President of the Federal Union of Journalists, Afzal Butt, praised the students, stating that they are not just special but highly capable individuals. He urged the media to highlight their potential so that philanthropists, civil society, and government institutions step forward. “These institutions are our collective responsibility,” he said, “and we all must contribute to their mission.”
