CTD kills four terrorists in intelligence-based operation in Quetta

QUETTA: (Wed Desk) – Four militants belonging to a proscribed organization were killed during an intelligence-based operation carried out by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Quetta on Saturday.

The operation was conducted in the Saryab Road area, where terrorists opened fire on CTD personnel, triggering a fierce gunbattle. All four militants were neutralized on the spot. CTD officials said a cache of weapons, including hand grenades, along with ammunition and banned literature, was recovered from a compound used by the suspects. Authorities have sealed off the area and launched a search operation to track down any remaining accomplices.

Earlier, on January 27, 2026, five suspected terrorists were killed in a similar CTD-led operation in Pishin district. One of the suspects was reportedly involved in multiple terrorism cases. At least 10 CTD personnel sustained injuries during the exchange of fire, while security forces recovered heavy weaponry, including rocket launchers, SMGs, grenades, and ammunition.
