Four Postal Department Officials Arrested for Embezzling Millions

Peshawar: In a significant crackdown, the Anti-Corruption Circle Abbottabad, acting on behalf of the FIA, has arrested four officials of the Abbottabad Postal Department for allegedly embezzling over 30 million rupees.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the arrests were made following an operation targeting corruption within the Abbottabad Postal Department. The arrested individuals, identified as Hafiz, Wahid, Hamid, and Khalil, are accused of misappropriating funds from deceased users’ accounts and dormant accounts.

The suspects, whose bail was revoked by the Special Judge Anti-Corruption Abbottabad, allegedly manipulated accounts to siphon off funds, resulting in corruption exceeding 30 million rupees. Their arrest marks the beginning of an investigation aimed at uncovering financial irregularities and tax evasion.
