Four mortar blast victims were laid to rest in Bajaur.

A community mourns four teenagers killed by an old mortar shell, raising urgent concerns about local safety in Bajaur.

Bajaur – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – A community gathered in grief on Sunday for the funeral of four teenagers. The boys, aged 13 to 18, were killed when an old mortar shell exploded in a field in the Laghari area.

Local leader Sahibzada Haroon Rashid led the funeral prayers. He connected the tragic blast to the ongoing military action against militants in the region. Rashid stressed that it is the government’s duty to keep people and their homes safe.

He expressed that security in the area has not gotten much better, despite the operation. He called on the national government to finally bring peace to Bajaur and other troubled areas.

The four young lives were lost, and two others were badly hurt in the explosion on Saturday afternoon. While the police have not shared their findings, some sources believe the shell was left behind by militants fleeing the area.

In response, the local police have now warned residents about other possible dangers. They issued a statement asking people in Lowi and War Mamund to be very careful.
