Former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan Launches Pakistan Rights Movement

Former senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan has announced the formation of a new political party, pledging a reform-driven agenda aimed at rebuilding Pakistan under the 1973 Constitution.

Speaking to supporters and the media, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan said the party will be called the Pakistan Rights Movement, describing its launch as the start of a political journey focused on reforms and national revival. He emphasized that the party will work to reorganize the country strictly according to the Constitution of 1973, which he said already provides comprehensive guidance on Islam and governance and must be implemented in both letter and spirit.

The former senator outlined his vision of transforming Pakistan into an Islamic welfare state, asserting that Islam, democracy, and constitutional rule are complementary when applied honestly. He criticized certain elements for obstructing constitutional implementation, which he said has weakened democratic values and slowed national progress.

Mushtaq Ahmed stressed that the party envisions a Pakistan where the people’s right to rule is fully respected, insisting that true democracy can only thrive when public mandate is upheld without interference. He highlighted social priorities, including accessible education, better healthcare, economic prosperity, social justice, and equal opportunities for all citizens.

Calling for free and speedy justice, he said that delayed or denied justice undermines public trust in institutions and perpetuates inequality.

Concluding his announcement, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan said the Pakistan Rights Movement is embarking on its journey with a reform agenda and expressed hope that the party would unite citizens committed to constitutionalism, justice, and national dignity.
