Former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Detained by Israeli Forces, Safe and Awaiting Deportation: FO
According to local legal procedures, Senator Mushtaq Ahmed will be presented before the court.
Islamabad: The Foreign Office has stated that efforts are underway for the safe and prompt return of Pakistani citizens aboard the Samoud Flotilla.
The Foreign Office spokesperson informed that Pakistani citizens were illegally detained by Israeli occupation forces, and close coordination is ongoing with international partners to ensure their return.
The spokesperson added that former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed is safe and in good health while in Israeli custody. The Government of Pakistan remains committed to the protection of its citizens worldwide.

He further said that information about the Pakistani citizens was obtained through diplomatic sources from a friendly European country. According to local legal procedures, Mushtaq Ahmed will be presented before the court, and once a deportation order is issued, his return will be arranged immediately.
The spokesperson also noted that the Foreign Office has previously secured the safe return of several Pakistanis.
It is worth mentioning that Israel seized the Samoud Flotilla, which was carrying aid to Gaza, and detained nearly 500 activists, of whom 137 were released yesterday, including 36 Turkish nationals.
