Islamabad: The preference of foreign players for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) over the Indian Premier League (IPL) has further increased the demand and stature of the PSL.

In an interview with Indian media, England cricketer David Willey described the security arrangements in the PSL as superior compared to the IPL.

He said that the IPL auction process is uncertain, whereas the PSL offers players greater security and a clearer assurance of playing opportunities. He added that every player has a different situation, and some believe they will get more chances to play in the PSL rather than spending 10 or 11 weeks sitting on the bench in the dugout during the IPL.

It is worth noting that Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali have already announced their decision to skip the IPL in order to play in the PSL.

Meanwhile, Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has also announced that he will not be participating in this year’s IPL, following which reports have emerged linking him with a potential appearance in the PSL.
