Foreign Office Decries U.S. Resolution as Unacceptable Interference in Pakistan’s Affairs
The Foreign Office has called for a more constructive approach from the U.S. Congress to bolster Pak-U.S. ties and a concerted effort to address humanitarian concerns in Gaza.
Islamabad: The Foreign Office has stated that the American resolution constitutes interference in Pakistan’s internal affairs, which is unacceptable.
Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, during a media briefing, emphasized that Pakistan is a sovereign state. She condemned the resolution passed by the U.S. House of Representatives, labeling it as unacceptable interference in Pakistan’s matters.
The spokesperson further lamented that the U.S. Congress passed the resolution without understanding the ground realities. She noted that Pakistan enjoys strong bilateral relations with the United States and that these relations thrive best when both nations adhere to the policy of non-interference in each other’s internal affairs. She urged the U.S. Congress to focus on strengthening Pak-U.S. relations rather than meddling in Pakistan’s domestic issues.

The Foreign Office spokesperson also reiterated Pakistan’s demand for the immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. She highlighted shocking revelations from a United Nations inquiry report regarding the killing of unarmed Palestinians. Baloch stressed the urgent need to stop the atrocities taking place in Gaza.
