Foreign missions fallen short of funds, hampering diplomatic work
Islamabad: (Staff Reporter) The foreign missions have fallen short of funds, hampering diplomatic work and leaving the diplomats in the lurch. Diplomats have been facing embarrassment due to delay nonpayment of rent for their residences abroad. The insiders said that the lack of funds has halted working in most of the embassies.
According to the sources, the passport staff posted in American and European missions has been without salaries too, they said, adding the foreign affairs minister has halted the funds.
As per details, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch’ stated that “the authorities have been looking into the matter. Delay in payment of the international diplomatic missions is due to a system, the official said, adding that the missions in Europe and the United States will re-check the problems that have been pointed out.”
