Pakistan, China Hold Productive Discussions on Bilateral Cooperation

New York_(Hanif Rehman)-Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister recently  Special visit UN Permanent Mission of Pakistan, where he discussed various pressing issues, including Afghanistan, Palestine, and internal security concerns.

The Foreign Minister emphasized Pakistan’s desire for peace and development in Afghanistan, but expressed concerns over terrorist activities emanating from the region. He warned that if Pakistan faces another attack from Afghanistan, it will retaliate, targeting terrorist groups such as the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The minister also called for the return of weapons left behind by the US in Afghanistan, citing concerns over their potential misuse.

Palestine and the Two-State Solution,

Regarding Palestine, the Foreign Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the two-state solution, emphasizing that Palestine belongs to the Palestinians and that any solution must be acceptable to them. He criticized the US position on the issue, reiterating Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.

Internal Security Concerns,

The Foreign Minister also addressed internal security concerns, particularly with regards to the May 9th protests in Pakistan. He stated that those involved in the protests will face legal action, emphasizing that the government does not engage in political victimization or manipulation.

Relations with China and Other Countries,

Additionally, the Foreign Minister mentioned that Pakistan has had productive discussions with China, resulting in significant outcomes. He also announced plans to visit Afghanistan soon, highlighting the importance of regional diplomacy.

Law and Order,

The Foreign Minister defended the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act  PECA law, stating that it is correct and that any reservations should be clearly stated. He noted that the Information Ministry is working on addressing concerns related to the law.

Foreign Minister’s statements highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to regional security, its support for the Palestinian people, and its efforts to address internal security concerns. The upcoming visit to Afghanistan is seen as a significant step in regional diplomacy, and Pakistan’s relations with China and other countries are expected to continue to grow.
