Foreign Delegations Arrive in Islamabad for Landmark US-Iran Negotiations
Pakistan Steps Into the Global Spotlight as Islamabad Becomes the Centre of a Critical Diplomatic Push Between Washington and Tehran
Islamabad – Pakistan’s capital is alive with diplomatic energy today as top-level delegations from the United States and Iran arrive for what could be a turning point in Middle East peace efforts.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker to lock down final security arrangements. He confirmed that US Vice President JD Vance, along with close Trump aides Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, will attend as special guests. Iran will be represented by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting with top civil and military leaders, including Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, to go over final preparations before the talks begin.
Security across the capital is tight. Police, paramilitary forces and VVIP protocol teams are in full deployment. Special routes have been cleared for delegation movements and Serena Hotel has been reserved exclusively for the visiting officials.
This moment did not happen overnight. Pakistan brokered a fragile two-week US-Iran ceasefire just days ago. Prime Minister Sharif then personally invited both sides to Islamabad to work toward a lasting agreement.
The world is watching. And right now, all eyes are on Pakistan.
