FO reacted to allegations leveled by India media about harassment of visa applicants by staff of PHC in India
Islamabad: (Staff Reporter) The Foreign Office (FO) has reacted to the allegations leveled by Indian media about harassment of visa applicants by the staff of the Pakistani High Commission (PHC) in India. The reaction comes after Indian media claimed that a staffer at the Pakistan embassy allegedly demanded sexual favors from a woman for granting her visa in March 2022. FO Spokesperson Mumtaz Zehra Baloch asserted that the staff posted in India gave great importance to the visa applicants.
According to the source, she also expressed surprise at the time and manner in which the Indian media took up the issue. The spokesperson said that they were looking into the matter, adding that all visa applicants were treated fairly with presence of speedy system for redressal of all public grievances. She maintained that inappropriate behavior with people visiting Pakistani missions was not tolerated at all, adding that diplomatic staff had been instructed to strictly follow the professional manners.
