Islamabad: (Web Desk) Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stressed the need for creating a consensus on the issue of Afghanistan, stating that no country wanted Afghanistan to become a centre of terrorism in the world. While speaking to the Pakistani media in the US capital, Washington, Bilawal said that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan had taken the responsibility of not allowing Afghan territory to be used for terrorism against any country in Doha Agreement.
According to the source, he stated that “The Taliban will have to fulfill their promises to the world. We want no Pakistani citizen to become a victim of terrorism, nor should we want any Afghan or Indian citizen to become a victim of terrorism. Afghanistan is our neighbor. We have to talk to them. The entire world had been facing economic difficulties due to coronavirus, Ukraine situation and climate change. We have to work hard to achieve our economic goals.”
As per report on UN details, 90 per cent of people in Afghanistan are below the poverty line. It will increase the problems of not only Afghanistan but also of my country,” he added. He also said the success of democracy in Pakistan was that not a judge or general, but the parliament of Pakistan had removed a prime minister democratically. He also stated that as the foreign minister, he himself bore the expenses of his foreign tours, adding that the benefit of his trips to the foreign countries was not for him but for the people.
Meanwhile Bilawal Bhutto Zardari talked to United Arab Emirates (UAE) Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on a telephone call. The two foreign ministers exchanged views about the Taliban’s decision of banning girls’ education in the universities of Afghanistan. Both the leaders emphasized that Islam had accorded a privileged position to women and protected their rights.
Furthermore Bilawal stressed the importance of guaranteeing the rights of women and their full and equal participation in all spheres of life. Both the foreign ministers reiterated their strong stance in support of security, stability and peace in Afghanistan. They also called for international efforts to build a sustainable future for the Afghans.
