When Pakistan was created, there were a large number of Hindus here, some went to India and some decided that they should have to stay on this land, along with other minorities, Sikhs and Christians. Although history is a witness that there was a lot of bloodshed, but then everyone started living together, a large number of Hindus camped in Sindh province, while the Sikh community moved to Hasan Abdal and Peshawar, i.e. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while Christians spread throughout the country. There are also one or two Parsis in Pakistan because one of them is a great artist and a very sophisticated person. I have met them. Now the rest of the minorities are in their place, but there have been many incidents of Christians when the state failed to provide them security. There are so many incidents on ground and some are hidden because people don’t want to share for their own security. Now let’s talk about the flood for minorities.
The flood of 2022 is the worst flood in Pakistan. It was called “Monster Flood” because it is worst then the 2010’s flood. Federal Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman said several times in the press conferences that one third percent of the country was submerged in water, but my information is something else, which I will explain in detail in the next article. Let me tell you now that Sindh province has a large number of Hindu minority bodies, that is, according to the 2017 census, there are 83 thousand Hindus inhabitants, which is a large number. Leave what the government is saying, according to the International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD). According to this, 18 percent of Sindh province has been submerged. And there is a large number of Hindus in this submerged part. And their situation is that they were already living a miserable life, now they are left to live and die. No roof over the head and nothing to eat below.
On the one hand, the government of Sindh province is breaking the dam itself in many places so that certain areas can be saved, due to which a large number of Hindus have drowned. In such a situation the forced Hindus are completely at the mercy of the helpless. Either the Government knows what happens to them there or the Hindus themselves. However, the incident of a rickshaw puller in Shahdadpur opened everyone’s eyes to what is happening with Hindus. When a rickshaw puller sexually assaulted a Hindu woman for two days on the pretext of giving her ration. It was a story that I don’t know how it came out, maybe because there was a rickshaw puller on the other side, while in the same province of Sindh, the practice of forcibly converting Hindu girls into Muslim marriage is common. Some people say that they themselves become Muslims for marriage. But whatever you do, if the girl does not become a Muslim by her own consent, then your marriage is nothing more than adultery. I can’t write more than that. Now our religious parties are also actively collecting aid from all over the world to help the affected people. It has not been made, under which some control can be kept on the collected aid, in such a situation, religious parties are collecting funds with great success, in which the representatives of Al-Khidmat Foundation and Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) are collecting aid from all over the country. Al-Khidmat is also a political party and Tehreek Labeek too. But both the parties have not yet worked for any minority. Instead of working for the Hindu community to set a good example, these funds are being invested in their own areas. And Hindus are selling their dignity just for livelihood.
The government has taken notice of this incident and the rickshaw puller will be punished, but what will happen to the Hindu girl? How will she spend the rest of her life? Will his family accept him? His honor will be returned? And will the government do anything about what is happening to the remaining Hindu, Christian minorities? Neither the government nor I have the answer to these questions. Yes, of course, this flood is ongoing and it is being told that it will continue for a couple of months. If it is investigated deeply, there is no doubt that such stories can come to the fore because we are living under an insensitive and helpless government.
