Flag Hoisting on Pakistan Day at Pakistan High Commission Canberra

A flag hoisting ceremony was held at the High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra to celebrate Pakistan National Day today. High Commissioner H.E. Mr.Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri along with the Pakistani community raised the flag with the national anthem of Pakistan. The messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan were also read out.
Speaking on the occasion, the High Commissioner highlighted the significance of 23 rd March. He paid rich tribute to the founding fathers of Pakistan and their vision for an independent, democratic, modern Muslim state with human rights, minority rights, women’s rights, social welfare, and the rule of law.Calling the Pakistani Diaspora greatest national asset, the High Commissioner appreciated their achievements and the goodwill they have generated for Pakistan. He also acknowledged the contributions made by overseas
Pakistanis in the socio-economic development of Pakistan.

The High Commissioner also highlighted various initiatives take by the High Commission in line with the Government’s policy of facilitating and empowering the Pakistani Diaspora. The Flag hoisting ceremony was attended by a large number Pakistani and
Kashmiri community members in Australia. Pakistan Day is being celebrated across Australia. Several commemorative events are being organized by the Pakistan-Australian Community in all major cities of Australia.
