Five Suspected Suicide Bombers Arrested Amid Infiltration Attempt at Pakistan‑Afghan Border”

Security in the border areas has been heightened with an ongoing search operation underway.

Torkham-Security forces have thwarted an infiltration bid by militants at the Pak-Afghan border, detaining five suspected suicide bombers — Afghan nationals aged 15 to 18 — security sources confirmed.

The attempt took place on the evening of July 17. Following a tip-off, troops set up blockades at five locations. The suspects advanced toward Aziz Khel and Mandi Khel but, faced with intense security, sought shelter in a mosque in Baisi Khel, where they were later arrested.

Security forces quickly surrounded the mosque and, through a strategic operation, compelled the militants to surrender without resistance. Among the arrested, three individuals were found carrying Afghan national identity cards.

All suspects have been moved to an undisclosed location for further investigation.

Security in the border areas has been heightened with an ongoing search operation underway. Authorities highlighted that this is not an isolated incident.

In previous encounters, 71 militants were killed in North Waziristan during operations from April 25 to 27. On July 4, 30 India-backed militants were killed while attempting to cross the border, and on March 23, 16 militants were eliminated during another infiltration attempt.
